Topic selection marks the first step of the research journey, yet it is also where most people get stuck. This lecture centers on two core themes. First, starting from research frontiers, it integrates AI tools and efficient literature review strategies to demonstrate how to conduct layered screening and progressive refinement, so as to finalize feasible research topics. Second, it elaborates on the main principles of research topic selection to help determine effective research topics. One single lecture answers two main questions: what literature to read and how to pick the right research topic.
